Gingerbread Sailboats

1/3 cup butter

1/3 cup brown sugar

1 egg, well beaten

3 cups flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon ginger

1/3 teaspoon salt

2/3 cups molasses

Cream butter and sugar, then add the egg.

Sift dry ingredients together and add alternatively with the molasses to the first mixture.

Roll out until 1/4 inch thick.

Cut shapes to make gingerbread sailboats or other shapes.

Bake for 7 minutes at 350°F.

Note: I recommend that you do a test cookie to determine if you have the correct time and temperature. There is a huge variance in time and temperature when baking cookies and adjustments are almost always necessary.
