Visitor information (2021)

Visitor slips are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Prior to entering the harbour radio “Highland Yacht Club” on VHF channel 68 to contact the officer of the day. Officer of the day is on duty 6 pm-9 pm Monday-Friday, 9 am-9 pm Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

 

HYC’s reciprocal visitors' policy during COVID:

  • Reciprocal privileges will be offered to members from clubs that are also currently offering visiting privileges to our members
  • Up to 3 nights
  • Based on availability on a first come first serve basis (HYC does have 10 dedicated visitors slips on the ends of the main docks plus on-duty officers of the day can assign vacant slips as needed)

Prior to coming to HYC:

  • Self assess – please do not visit HYC if you:
    • Are feeling unwell or have any symptoms of Covid-19
    • Have tested positive for Covid-19 and have not been moved to recovered status
    • Have traveled outside of Canada in the last 14 days
    • Have had contact with anyone with COVID-19
    • Have been told by Public Health to self-isolate/quarantine
  • Prior to entering the harbour radio “Highland Yacht Club” on VHF channel 68 to contact the officer of the day. Officer of the day is on duty 6 pm-9 pm Monday-Friday, 9 am-9 pm Saturday, Sunday and holidays
  • If you are arriving outside of the Officer of the Day hours, you may tie up at any vacant visitors dock
  • Fly your reciprocal club burgee

  • Once at HYC

    Proceed to assigned slip – water and hydro hook up is available (some slips are 20 amp so bring an adapter)

    QR codes for the HYC Visitors Check-in Form are posted on the power stations at the visitors’ dock. Scan with your smartphone camera to access the form

    Visitors need to follow provincial rules pertaining to physical distancing and social gathering sizes

    Clubhouse and kitchen facilities are closed

    Washroom access is available – masks are to be worn inside as per Toronto bylaw 541-2020

Our location

Highland Yacht Club is located in the Bluffers Park harbour at the foot of Brimley Rd. in Scarborough. Bluffers Park is located 8 miles east of Toronto Harbour and 9 miles west of Frenchman's Bay (Pickering), on Lake Ontario's north shore.
